This update was just a bit of rambling, so it didn't get posted.

However, for the insanely curious, here it is:

December 23, 2001

Do you ever talk to yourself in the mirror? Just wondering.

I used to be mystified by that person in the mirror. As a toddler, I would sit on the edge of the sink and talk to my "twin," trying to visualize what it would be like in that "other" world where everything was backwards.

When I asked my sister how she treated her image, she said that whenever she saw herself in the mirror, she'd pose as though for a picture and say "lookin' GOOD, girl!"

I laughed at her blatant arrogance. Wow.

But seriously, how do you treat that person that stares back at you from the bathroom wall while you brush your teeth, or when you comb your hair?

I was reading a verse the other day that caught my attention. Psalms 139:14 - I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

When you talk to yourself, you're talking to one of God's creations... one of His masterpieces! And moreover, that person that blinks back when you check the mirror is going to be with you a long time.. the rest of your life, actually. It's a good idea to be on good terms with him/her, and it couldn't hurt to toss them a compliment once in awhile.

Just something to think about.

Until next time, God Bless!
